Spreading the good word like wildfire

This is great news. A high school English teacher named Tracee Orman has created lesson plans for the Hunger Games and posted them on Scholastics website for teachers and teacherspayteachers.com. Over 4,000 teachers downloaded her material when it was first posted, and this was back in 2009. She was having trouble getting the boys in her classroom to get into the reading materials, went to her principal to get permission to buy the books for her classroom, and started the series. Its interesting to see the classic novels she compares each book with in her lessons, shes even drawn out maps of Panem. There is always so much to talk about, about these books. There is so much depth to them. Good going girl, get that revolution started.

Another Earth

I came across this three part interview with this great actress and writer Brit Marling. I really like this girl because she seems genuinely moved and excited to be experiencing such a surreal moment in her life. I also find her story extremely real, and very inspiring. She cowrote the film "Another Earth" with a close friend of hers, Mike Cahill. I loved this movie so much, it is beautifully shot and very thought provoking.

I think it's a very beautiful way to look at acting when she talks about looking at it, as being a vessel for story telling. I cant wait to see what else she'll be working on in the future.
